Post for the sake of post!

:o

oh noes!

I have updated my website some more! and... and you should go see how my games are doing!

also, I think I've finally got a good idea going for a new cartoon. It will be called "Tekko & The Unfortunate Panda". It will be about Tekko... a crazy guy, and an unfortunate panda, who is pretty much dragged around at Tekko's whim. This is all it is! Nothing more! That's so simple I think I can finally stick to it!

Another New Game!

So to help offset the long periods between updates of Caveman Dan, I decided to take on a project that should hopefully not require the same level of quality I have been demanding of myself when making Caveman Dan.

Why does it not require the same quality? 'Cause I just decided that's how it would be. I would pump out updates whether or not I thought they were great or to my satisfaction. Plus, this game doesn't require the same level of planning as Caveman Dan which often holds me back, because I simply just do whatever people ask me to do. Based off that concept, I thought of making a game where the players get to create their own characters, what they're like, what they do, and basically create a whole world for them to live in, completely tailored to their liking. And it's fun for me too because I get to put peoples' collaborative imagination to life.

Oh, and here's the link:

So I based it off the discussion in the physics community on conditioned realities and the unconditioned reality. I'm not really touching on the unconditioned reality, but I was hoping perhaps this game could lightly touch on the notion of what it's like to condition another reality, and how that reality is dependent upon the other reality which imposed conditions on it. In other words, the drawings need a drawer. They cannot be until the drawer has made it so, and so each conditioned reality requires a less conditioned reality to provide its conditions, or else it can not be. In the end, that's why we come to the conclusion of an unconditioned reality (i.e. God) because if each conditioned reality depends on something with less conditions, eventually all realities require something with no conditions whatsoever.

Anyhow, I doubt that people will really gather this depth from the game since, it really is just a lot simpler and supposed to be just fun. So whether people learn something or have fun, either way, it's all good. Win-win.

:)

Ummmmm... so yeah, you should go play it? Ha ha, that explanation probably scared off anyone who hasn't already played it.

The Beard: The Untold Story

I hadn't realized my beard was really any good for anything other than coming across as deep and thoughtful. But no, there is more than simply stroking the beard like a philosopher. Here's what happened... I went swimming.

To all you no-beards out there, I pity you greatly. I had no idea how cool is feels to swim with a long beard. The beard exhibits drag in the water so it kind of pulls on your chin and you can feel the water sifting through it in a supremely neat way. I just have to say, tis so neat feeling. I just kept swinging my face around in the water it was so cool.

Anyway, everyone who CAN experience this, totally should let that beard grow. The time is now!

Slightly Orange 2.0

Wow! Does anybody read this? Probably not!

But in the event that you do, I finally launched the new updated version of my slightly orange website!

I've been wanting to do this for so long, mostly because I wanted to have an all-in-one navigation/login bar at the bottom corner of the screen, so that I could slowly increase the available options for being logged into my website.

PHP: From weaksauce to burnsauce
To make these revisions was a massive pain in the butt though. My code was as ancient as my first baby steps in PHP when my knowledge of PHP consisted in reading other peoples' code. So it was messy, full of errors, and lacking in all the cool new things I've learned since I worked in Toronto and had far more hands on involvement in PHP.

Frames vs. CSS
I got rid of the frames. Oh man... the frames. Why did I ever use frames? Now that I've learned CSS I was able to revise things accordingly and get everything converted. So I've got a clean, error free (as far as I know) website now and so I can concentrate on content updates, particularly on getting back into the swing of doing Caveman Dan.

Updates
I also made a great little updates window that just opens in the top corner of the screen when you click "updates" in the navigation bar, showing the last few updates with links to said updates. I hope people make use of that because I update my content rather sporadically between the various pages I have going on, and the updates window will make it far easier to know what's been updates.

that's it! hope you all enjoy it!
